Relaxation:
I have been using hypnosis and other methods to relax clients -- and teach them to relax themselves -- for 26 years. Regardless of the focus of the treatment, clients invariably end the session lamenting having to leave the luxurious comfort and peace of the trance state. For most treatments, I create a specific protocol for each client, using imagery and associations that are evocative and meaningful to him or her. If the client is willing to practice at home, I can record the protocol on my client's cell phone. Self-hypnosis is a skill that is enhanced by practice, so my clients can learn to relax themselves deeply and quickly and use this skill in stressful situations (e.g. on a plane, at the dentist's office, before an exam or presentation, or simply when they begin to feel anxious.)
