I use a combination of techniques to help you reach a weight you are comfortable with. Hypnosis can help to identify and address blocks to weight loss, strengthen your resolve to stick to a healthy eating plan, identify coping skills that will work best for you, and help you ignore the feelings and sensations you have come to associate with the need to eat. We may decide to incorporate Internal Family Systems therapy to work with emotional states that lead to over-eating, Mindfulness techniques to increase your awareness of self-talk that undermines weight loss and sit with sensations of hunger more comfortably until they pass; or, we may address negative beliefs that maintain problematic eating with Energy Therapy techniques as well as Hypnosis and perhaps CBT. Behavioral monitoring, such as recording overeating and identifying stressful events or painful emotions and negative self-talk helps you to see more clearly the relationships between over-eating and other factors. I teach my clients a range of quick, effective coping skills that they can use to address the obstacles to reaching a healthy weight. Hypnosis can help you to tolerate more comfortably urges to overeat, to change your response to the physical sensations that you associate with hunger, and to strengthen your resolve to change your eating and reach a healthy weight.
